1-2-3-4 Cupcake

Cake making is fun; isn’t it? And if it is for cupcake recipes, it’s just a tiny bundle of joy.  I never miss a chance to cherish it. You know, in the early days these cupcakes were called 1-2-3-4 cakes. It’s because of its making process. 1 cup of butter, 2 cups of sugar, 3 cups of flour, and 4 eggs. Isn’t it cool? So, if you are a cake-making newbie and willing to take control over its measurements, remember 1-2-3-4. Whenever I think of the measurements, these measurements pop up in my mind in tune; the tune from ‘Sound of Music’, “These are a few of my favorite things”. Funny!

Let’s see how you too can make it using this 1-2-3-4 method.

Ingredients:

Butter – 1 Cup

Sugar – 2 Cups

Flour – 3 Cups

Egg – 4 Nos.

Baking powder – 2 teaspoon

Baking soda – 1 teaspoon

Salt – ½ Teaspoon

Vanilla Extract – 1 Tablespoon

Milk – 1 ½ Cup (room temperature)

Procedure:

Take a bowl and mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Now take a different bowl and mix butter and sugar. Use an electrical mixer to whisk it. Maintain a high speed until it becomes smooth and creamy.

Now add eggs one by one while mixing them. Don’t put it in one go.

As it becomes a batter-like consistency, add vanilla extract. Whisk it again.

Add half of the flour mix through a sieve. Mix it with an electrical mixer. Maintain a low speed.

As it mixes well, add half of the milk. And again mix it with the mixer.

As it mixes well add another half of the milk and sieve the rest flour mix.

Now combine it with a spoon in the cut & fold method.

Line the cupcake baking tray with parchment cupcake sheets.

Pour the batter into every pocket. Fill it up to ¾ of the height.

Bake it in a preheated oven at 1800 C for 20 – 25 minutes.

Your cupcake is ready.

Conclusion:

Cupcake recipes are simple, but can be unique if you add your kind of touch as a topping. I have added white whipped cream and mango coulis as its topping. Try your way. These without toppings are too thoroughly enjoyable.
