kaju katli

Kaju Katli

Dessert is my favorite, absolutely favorite. And, Kaju Katli is something I can cherish any time of the festive season, I don’t need a full course meal to meet it in the end. Chef Bhimrao of Maharashtra from the 16th century is the father of this masterpiece and added his contribution through this path-breaking dish in Indian culinary history. And who doesn’t love this since then? Today I made this in my kitchen too, and thought of sharing its recipes with everyone. This 4 ingredient recipe is delightful for sure.

Let’s see how you too can make this.

Ingredients:

Cashew – 250 g

Milk powder – 200 g

Sugar – 1 Cup

Silver foil – To cover the kaju katli

Procedure:

Take a grinder.

Grind the cashews.

Sieve through a strainer.

Add the milk powder.

In a pan add a little water and the sugar.

Melt the sugar but don’t caramelize it.

Add the cashew mix.

Stir well.

It should turn sticky and form a loose dough.

Now place it on a plastic film.

Cover it with another plastic film.

Roll with a rolling pin.

Maintain the thickness of your choice.

Remove the top plastic film.

Garnish with silver foil.

Cut these into diamond shape.

Serve.

Conclusion:

I don’t claim it’s an absolutely healthy recipe. It’s quite high in calories. But if you like it, you like it. Do a fair share of exercises to continue to savor the grandness of tastes. Kaju Katli is an integral part of the Indian festive season. This season, make it in your home. And do let me know in the comment section, how it came out.

Enjoy!
