Smashed Cucumber Salad

Did you ever smash a cucumber? It’s excellent if you are trying to make some new salad. Though cucumber is an integral part of salad making and has been used since time unknown, this type of smashed cucumber salad can really hold on to the taste of dressings. Whatever you add for dressing, it gets stuck to its unevenly broken surface. And that creates the magic.

Let’s see how you too can prepare Smashed Cucumber Salad in your kitchen.

Ingredients:

Cucumber – 250 g

Salt – 1 Tablespoon

Spring onion – 2 Tablespoons (only greens, finely chopped)

Chili flakes – 1 Teaspoon

Sesame seeds – 1 Tablespoon (roasted)

For dressing:

Kasundi/Dijon mustard paste – 1 Tablespoon

Olive oil – 2 Tablespoon

Lemon juice – 1 Tablespoon

Procedure:

Take the cucumber and smash it with a rolling pin.

Now tear the pieces with your hands.

Add salt and leave it for half an hour.

After half an hour drain the water released due to salt.

Now prepare the dressing.

Take a small glass jar with a lid.

Add Kasundi or Dijon mustard paste, olive oil, and lemon juice.

Cover the jar and shake it well.

Now take the cucumber.

Add spring onion leaves followed by the salad dressing.

Sprinkle chili flakes and roasted sesame seeds.

Add the dressing.

Give it a good mix.

Serve.

This recipe offers 4 servings.
