Summers are the time to experience chilled food; and what could be more satisfying than an ice cream? And, if it is a homemade ice cream recipe, you are doubly sure that nothing can harm your health. I actually prefer homemade food, thus always try to spread awareness of preparing food at home rather than buying pre-mix. Homemade food is not only healthy but also quite economical. And if you are a true food lover, you might know that it works as a therapy. I got this recipe online. It’s super easy and its looks immediately caught my eye. I couldn’t resist but to prepare it at once. Voila! it’s a hit.
History says the Tang Dynasty was ruling China when this dish was invented. So, it must be between 618 to 907 AD. People used to heat and ferment milk and then mix it with flour and camphor and refrigerate it. This was the earliest documented ice cream recipe that we got to know. How different! Isn’t it? Well, the ingredients may be different, but I am sure the craving for a chilled yummy dish must be the same as we feel now.
Summer is the time when you crave ice cream almost daily to beat the heat but surely you would not like to stuff your body with preservatives. Homemade ice cream is the answer.
Let’s see how you too can prepare this in your kitchen.
Ingredients:
Hot water – 250 ml
Normal water – 250 ml
Strawberry gelatin – 20 g
Condensed milk – 250 g
Heavy cream – 200 g
Procedure:
Blend by blender:
Take a blender. Pour the hot water into it.
Then add the strawberry gelatin.
Blend well.
Once everything gets blended well, add the normal water to the mix followed by condensed milk and heavy cream.
Again blend it well.
Transfer it to a box and freeze it for 2 hours.
Bring out the box and you will see the change in the consistency. It will have a glue-like consistency by then.
Blend by electrical mixer:
Now transfer this mix to a large bowl and hand blend it with an electrical mixer.
The mix is fluffy and comes to double in size.
Set:
Take an ice cream setting tray or box where you want to set your ice cream and pour everything into the container.
Freeze it for 24 hours.
Your homemade ice cream recipe is ready.
Garnish with fresh strawberry and serve.
