The festive season is starting today with the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. And, what could be more obvious than making some Motichoor Ladoo for Bappa? They say it’s his favorite sweets.
Let’s see how you too may prepare this in your kitchen.
Ingredients:
Gram flour (besan) – 1 Cup
Water – Adequate
Cardamom powder – ½ Teaspoon
Saffron food color – A pinch
Sugar – 2/3 Cup
Muskmelon seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Oil/Ghee – For frying
Procedure:
Prepare the besan granule:
Take a bowl and add gram flour to it.
Add water little by little and make a smooth batter so that it may pass through a draining spoon.
Now heat oil or ghee. I have taken both.
Sieve the besan batter through a draining spoon.
Fry for some seconds and strain these granules through a different draining spoon.
Transfer it to a plate.
Repeat this for a couple of batches.
Now take a blender.
Transfer all the fried granules to the blender.
Give it a quick blend.
It should not be a fine powder, but rather a coarse one.
Prepare the syrup:
Take a different pot.
Add ½ cup of water along with sugar.
Bring it to a boil.
Add the food color.
Combine:
Now add the blended granule to it.
Stir it thoroughly until the syrup gets dried.
Bring it to a dough like consistency.
Turn off the flame.
Add cardamom powder and muskmelon seeds.
Make the laddoos:
Grease your hands with ghee.
Take a small portion and roll it to form a small ball-shaped motichoor ladoo.
Serve it to Bappa.
Today I am not going to share any Nutritional Value Chart for this recipe.
Conclusion:
No celebration starts without sweets, and for Ganesh Chaturthi, it’s obviously Motichoor Ladoo. This Ganpati, don’t bring it from outside, rather make it on your own. Bappa will love it for sure.
Ganpati Bappa Morya!
