Vegan Coconut Yogurt

You must have seen those shelves in the grocery section; full of vegan yogurts stacked in a pile with eye-catchy branding and lucrative offers. Those will never give you enough satisfaction as your homemade coconut yogurt will provide. The best part is, it’s super easy to make. Well, it will not come with those flashy branding, but ‘Health’ is something that is surely assured with this so delicious coconut yogurt. These are extremely good in supplying probiotics; and who doesn’t know how much beneficial those are for gut health? So, if you are a vegan or a lactose intolerant, coconut yogurt is your thing.

Let’s see how you can prepare it at your cozy kitchen corner.

Ingredients:

Homemade coconut milk – 2 cups

Coconut yogurt – 1 Teaspoon (As starter)

Procedure:

Take homemade coconut milk in a pot. Take the first batch of the coconut milk so that you get the right creamy texture. Now bring it to the boiling point. As soon it reaches the boiling point turn off the flame.

Transfer it to a separate bowl where you want to set your yogurt.

Now, add the coconut yogurt starter. For this, you may use peanut yogurt too as a starter. Keep it in a hot place to get set. The kitchen is the best place to set yogurt. Keep it near the burner. It takes roughly 12 hours to set.

I prefer setting it into a stone pot. You may try that too. But your regular glass bowl or a stainless steel container can set it as desired. A Glass bowl requires a few hours more to set unlike a stone pot or stainless steel container.

Transfer it to the refrigerator as soon as gets set. After 3 to 4 hours in the fridge, it becomes a so delicious coconut yogurt to be tasted.

Serve cold. You may add your favorite fruits as a topping to enhance its taste.
